Top Target Areas For Botox

By Anka Sanori

Botox injections are frequently used for many cosmetic applications. In the last few years there has been a significant increase in its use with more and more people seeking to change the way they look and shave off years with this simple and quick treatment. The reason for this primarily lies with how quickly the procedure can be performed, how simple the entire process is, the excellent result and the low cost associated with botox.

Fine lines and wrinkles on the face are a common treatment area for botox; it relaxes the muscles and skin when it is applied. The three main sites most often injected are:

- Forehead wrinkles

- Crow's feet lines around the eyes

- Vertical '11' lines between eyebrows

Forehead wrinkles

These 'frown lines' are one of the most common sites for botox injection. The forehead muscles are constantly being used and the skin and muscles are constantly under stress, so it is natural for frown lines and wrinkles to form. It is considered one of the first signs of ageing, which is why this is targeted first. Forehead lines seem to be the most troublesome amongst all facial creases for patients. This simple, quick and effective treatment does not even require anaesthesia. With effects that can last up to 6 months, the crease-free look can be maintained with repeat injections.

Crow's feet lines around the eyes

Crow's feet refer to fine lines that form at the corners of the eyes due to constant muscle use. It is an unpleasant but inevitable part of the aging process. Without giving the skin a stretched appearance, Botox injections can effectively reduce these lines and restore the look of young, healthy skin. Crow's feet treatment is the next sought-after treatment. As is the case with other botox treatments, effects can last for a period of up to 6 months following which additional treatments may be required.

Vertical '11' lines

When frowning, these are the two lines that form between the eyebrows. Botox injections are useful in reducing the depth of these lines and smoothens them out effectively. The results of this 10-15 minute procedure are excellent.

Botox is most often injected on the face into these top 3 sites. Botox injections around the mouth may be performed, and there are other sites like chin lifts, although these are much less common.

Conclusion

For excellent cosmetic results that offer younger looking skin free of wrinkles and fine lines, one of the most preferred treatments is still Botox.
